We support our target groups with familiar methods and forms culled from consulting, coaching, training, facilitating and process design as well as from different forms of therapy.
Our methodology is based on expertise and we work with precise definitions. Our extensive collection of methods, mostly certified, represents a unique combination. Aside from many tools which we feel are necessary, it contains an a-b-c of approaches and methods such as A for Appreciative Inquiry, B for Balanced Score Card and C for Constellation Work and so forth.
Of course, we also develop new concepts and answers in cooperation with you: from creating a culturally-specific curriculum to establishing a transcultural mission statement, from international HR processes to intercultural organization development.

Our strength: intercultural didactics based on scientific findings
The high quality of our methods in teaching cultural competence derives from our wide range of experience: a myriad of trainings and certifications, professional exchanges of ideas as well as empirical research projects and publications. This converges into an integrative concept as well as top-notch and original intercultural didactics which we have developed according to scientific findings.
All members of our institute practice this approach in teaching, facilitating and acquiring intercultural skills. Trans- and bicultural consulting and tandem-team trainings are our hallmark.

Our Methodology
Consulting for extended intercultural action competence
In systemic organizational development, the organization is strengthened by its own ability to find solutions. For this reason, we require, aside from methodological rigor, that participants actively involve themselves in the process. Systemic discovery means to explore the complex patterns and the dynamic rules which are hidden behind the problem.
The goal of our counseling is to insure resource-oriented problem-solving reorganization. We teach our clientele and their organizations intercultural skills and abilities in order to enable them to find solutions on their own.

Coaching as a goal-oriented approach
Over a limited period of time, coaching systemically fosters a voluntary developmental and change process when reorienting yourself in life or in your career. The goal is to improve or reestablish your professional stamina and personal satisfaction.
Our approach for all coaching forms
We assist you systemically in achieving your goal within a co-determined time-frame. We will regularly review your progress according to mutually established criteria. Every coaching session as well as the entire process is used to measure your progress so that you notice a continual development towards reaching your goals. By looking closely at the context of your concern and your potential, we move towards solutions tailored to you and your environment. These are defined as clearly and practically as possible to enable you to begin to work on them immediately.

Intercultural coaching approach
When coaching becomes "intercultural", a battery of questions arises which would receive differing answers within the profession. Therefore, we have developed a transparent approach to insure that you and we know what is going on at all times. We differentiate between coaching as "intercultural learning", "coaching in an international context" and "transcultural coaching". Which of these forms is used depends upon your need and the technical skill of the coach. Our publications prove that we know what we are doing.

Trainings as projects of human resources development
For us, trainings are not isolated activities but are embedded in the movement and development of an organization and adjusted to the daily needs of the target group. Therefore, we offer primarily project designs which systemically use the trainings as instruments in a learning organization.

Creating and guiding processes systematically
To ensure that services (training events as well as organizational development) remain lastingly effective, it is necessary that the process is target-oriented. Our expertise in systemic approaches, adult education and communication techniques allows us to create the dynamic of action in the conception, dramaturgy and especially in communication. In trainings as well as in team building or organizational development measures, we adhere to the idea of remaining neutral in moderating all teams while encouraging and assisting them to develop strategies of their own.
We lead the process on the content level (topics, subject matter), the process level (methods) and the relationship level (atmosphere, emotions, feelings for one another). This ensures that all the different levels of development (conscious, cognitive, emotional, behavioral repertoire and group dynamic) are activated.

Counseling for "normal" people
The basic tenets of humanistic philosophy can be found in our work. In our methodology, we focus on the entire person according to psychotherapy, conversational therapy and the bioenergetic analyses. All the important life-spheres of a person and her/his experiences are involved: the physical body, the spiritual level, relationships and professional situation. Even existential questions concerning the meaningfulness of one's own actions are taken into consideration. The conscious joins the unconscious when mind, spirit and body work together, hence power and direction come from inside.

Cultural reflexitivity and intercultural competence
Group-specific value systems and cultural codes are usually mentally abbreviated and are mostly understood from an ethnic or national stance. They represent, however, an interactive experience and can be interpreted in a specific organizational, departmental or environmental context. We foster an interactive cultural reflexitivity. That person who is able to identify and negotiate orientations of cultural values and communicative rules shared (or not shared) is the person who possesses genuine practical cultural competence.

Practical cultural competence means for you...
to be aware of when and where culture can play a role
to know your own culturally influenced expectations
to have background knowledge about different cultural issues
to be able to assume a mindset in which you question your own interpretations
to know your limits and to be able to increase your behavioral repertoire
to be familiar with methods for managing differences and creating a common culture.

Intercultural didactics means learning through communication skills
Intercultural competence consists of much more than just factual and cognitive knowledge about how different cultural values define action. In this case it is better to speak of practical cultural competence. This requires more than just conveying factual information and leading tutorials. It can be realized pedagogically via culturally reflexive communication steering. In numerous publications we have introduced our approach to intercultural learning through communication skills and have included practical recommendation.

Tandem teams as a learning model
Our trainers from our trans- and bicultural training teams are skilled experts from different cultures and work together on eye-level. Of course the 'resource person' or cultural native is also highly qualified. There is a particular advantage for our clientele offered by this type of competence training - the participants observe and assess the training process itself and the interaction of the expert team, adding a new dimension to the learning experience.

A collection of methods consisting of established and certified as well as creative tools
The use of the Balanced Scorecard in educational controlling attempts to link the strategic goals of a company with the behavior of its employees. Key data from four different angles are used: finance, customer, process and learning.
HDI, the Herrmann Dominance Instrument, identifies your preferred thought and behavioral patterns and can be used in training and personnel- and team development sessions. It is especially useful for career counseling, for educational course development and for analyzing teaching and learning styles. It is extremely well-suited for team training and team development as well as enhancing creativity for managers.
The ICRC is a statistically valid instrument used to determine four specific areas of competence - "intercultural sensitivity", "intercultural communication", "building commitment and obligation" and "dealing with uncertainty/ambiguity" which are essential for successful cooperation in an international environment.
KODE® is an instrument for analyzing the development of individuals, teams and organizations. It measures reliably of the four basic human competences, differentiates between behavior under favorable and stressful circumstances and gives advice for finding resources and potential possibilities of growth.
Systemic Constellation Work
Constellation work has fallen unfairly into disrepute because of criticism leveled against Hellinger, one of its founders. The systemic constellation work, often called "family constellation" is a phenomenological approach, with symbolic perception and a precise foundation as its basis. Using surrogates, objects or anchors, the exhibitor "experiences" in a true sense what dynamic patterns dominate the system. The goal of the method is to replace pre- and unconscious dependencies with conscious behavioral and transformational capabilities.
